Recall is what lets you take the lead off safely. It is built like a habit: first at home, then outside with a long line, then with more and more distractions.

- The long line, to practise without risk
- Coming back from play, from a smell, from another dog
Good to know
Off-lead only where it is allowed. Hunting breeds need more time: we say so honestly at the assessment.
